Mobile Ontology

This website is dedicated to the ontology work developed in the European IST-FP6 project SPICE

The Mobile Ontology is a higher-level comprehensive ontology for the mobile communications domain. The ontology is a machine readable schema intended for sharing knowledge and exchanging information both across people and across services/applications.

In the scope of SPICE, the Mobile Ontology is designed to serve as data exchange format between the components of the platform, as well as reasoning tool.

The Mobile Ontology is managed as a collaborative effort amongst SPICE project workpackages and partners.

Innovation of the Mobile Ontology

The Mobile Ontology is constructed with involvement and support of major players in mobile communications area, i.e. operators, manufactures and scientific community.

Therefore, the Mobile Ontology

• responds to the needs of mobile service developers
• is evolving
• representatively captures the domain in an unbiased fashion
